Cincinnati-based Accounting Firm Grows Through Acquisition

Cincinnati-based accounting and consulting firm Flynn & Company, Inc. has acquired Shoemaker & Company, Inc., the companies have announced. Shoemaker is also based in Ohio. The acquisition was finalized on December 24, 2013.

Combined, the firms will operate under the Flynn name. The acquisition of Shoemaker, which has more than two decades of experience serving businesses and individuals in Ohio, brings added expertise in accounting and advisory services to Flynn, which was founded in 1994. All of the staff will remain with the merged practice, which is based in Sycamore Township.

“Shoemaker & Company has a wealth of talented individuals and a well-respected client base,” said Richard T. Flynn, President and CEO of Flynn & Company. “This acquisition will allow our firm to provide added value to clients joining our firm and to those currently being served by our firm.”

Flynn & Company, Inc. was founded in 1994 and continues to provide a wide range of tax services and a full line of financial accounting, reporting and audit and attestation services. Flynn also provides technical assistance to businesses such as implementation of new accounting procedures and financial accounting standards, the structuring of internal control systems and researching financial reporting issues.

Flynn & Company, Inc. is a past recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and a winner of the Tri-State Success Award for 2012 and 2013.
